Apprenticeships

Learn a Skilled Trade.
Get Paid.
Build Your Future.

Imagine learning a skilled trade while getting paid! Our sought-after apprenticeship at Contact Electrical offers exactly that. You'll work directly with experienced electricians and complete a comprehensive four-year training program with JTL, leading to a Level 3 electrotechnical qualification

This qualification isn't just any certification – it's been handpicked by the Department for Education as a 'gold-standard' green apprenticeship, meaning it's highly valued and future-focused.

Is this apprenticeship right for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity! Apprenticeships like ours are highly competitive, and for good reason. This Level 3 qualification alone would typically cost around £20,000, but with Contact Electrical, it's completely FREE, and you'll earn a wage from day one – starting with the apprentice wage in your first year and moving to at least minimum wage thereafter.

What We're Looking For:

  • Aged 16 or over.
  • GCSEs: Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths, or equivalent Level 2 Functional Skills qualification or complete supervised initial assessments.
  • Eligible residency status and the right to work in England.
  • Ability to pass an eye test for colour blindness.
  • Reliable transportation to reach work sites or designated meeting points.

A Day in the Life

Every day offers new learning opportunities! Your work hours will typically be between 8 and 10 hours, with start and finish times varying between 6:00 am and 5:30 pm depending on the specific work site. You'll be working across a diverse range of projects, from industrial and commercial buildings to domestic properties, always under the supportive guidance of our experienced electricians. You'll be actively involved in various tasks, gaining hands-on experience in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.

Your college learning with JTL will take place on a block release schedule – one week per month during term time. This dedicated college time will allow you to delve into the theoretical knowledge that supports your practical work on-site. Outside of these college weeks, including half-term and summer holidays, you'll be working with our team unless you have booked annual leave.

At Contact Electrical, we're committed to your success and provide you with:

  • Full PPE and Uniform
  • Paid employment including statutory sick and holiday pay.
  • Supportive guidance and training.

"I started working for Contact Electrical back in 2021, and it’s been a really positive journey. When I first joined, I was keen to learn and get stuck into the trade, and the team there made it easy to feel part of things. Over time, I picked up loads of experience on different jobs, and with their support, I’ve now grown to the point where I’m running my own housing sites. It’s a great place to work with good people who back you to progress."
